Before You Buy

Good to know

  • Insure to full value — CAR at the full contract value at completion; EAR and CPM at full replacement cost including freight and duties. Under-insurance reduces claims proportionately.
  • Cover ends at handover — CAR stops when works are taken over or put into service; EAR testing cover runs up to 4 weeks from the first test, and second-hand items cease the moment testing begins.
  • CPM limits — plant working underground or in transit needs an endorsement; breakdown itself is not covered.
  • Tell us within 14 days — we are not liable for any loss notified later than 14 days after it occurs.
  • Boilers — inspection within statutory periods and a certified attendant are conditions of cover.

CPM is dedicated cover for your plant and machinery — at work, at rest, or dismantled for cleaning — not just while building the contract works.
At taking-over or completion of the first test, at the latest 4 weeks after testing begins — and immediately when testing starts for second-hand items.
No — it covers explosion or collapse. Fire damage to your property belongs under Property Insurance.
Not under EEI — theft is excluded. Consider Property or burglary cover for that risk.
